Bread and butter - Lennie Payne creates his Toast Art

When you think of toast you tend to picture it with jam, maybe some marmalade or perhaps an egg on top. You certainly don't expect the sale of it to fetch thousands of pounds - unless you're artist Lennie Payne. A blowtorch, a loaf of bread and a knife is all Lennie needs to create his toast art.

Art is something awesome, Art is something brilliant, Art is something you can Eat??!!

Mainichi Kaasan Family

Filming is slated to begin in August, and the movie will open in Japan early next year. According to the Sankei Sports newspaper, this is the first movie (in Japan) in which a real-life divorced couple stars as a fictional married couple. (The two stars did act in separate scenes in the 2006 live-action film adaptation of Moyoco Anno's Sakuran manga.)

Gamers love anything 8-bit, due to the fact that it’s so retro. This 8-bit pixel costume is awesome.

Kiel Johnson and Klai Brown created this awesome 8-Bit costume, lovingly referred to as “Gary,” by cutting out large cube-shaped pixels out of high-density foam sheets. The pixels are attached to an articulated cardboard structure to provide wearability in all three or our dimensions. Let’s hope this 8-bit character doesn’t want to rush to the bathroom in a hurry.

Amazing Sky Art by Daniel Dancer

Imagine if your job was to work with a couple of thousand elementary school kids at the same time -- to keep them on task, doing the same project, where everyone needed to be exactly in place for it all to work. "The teachers are always worried that it's going to be chaos, that kids are going to cause all kinds of problems," says Daniel Dancer. "But it never happens. There's always love and joy present instead -- it's palpable how present it is."

This year's event held on July 1 to July 4, the Prize Giving Ceremony took place on the first day at the Paris-Nord Villepinte Exhibition Center and rewarded the best Asian productions in the following categories: Manga, Anime, Asian Films, Video Games and J-Music.

As manga's role at Angouleme has not grown to match its market share, some folks believe that the Expo is a bigger event for those comics in Europe.

Nintendo Violin: Teppei Okada Masters The Classics

In this amazing video, he proves that claim by playing both the music and sound effects during a Super Mario Bros. playthrough!
Okada’s musical timing is so impeccable that I only wish these had been the soundtracks to the original games.
